Andrew Frame, Regional Lead Orthotist
Salford University, 2009
What is your primary role / responsibility?
I am the Regional Lead Orthotist for the south of England for Trulife. My roles includes running my own clinics, as well as managing the orthotists schedule, attending review meetings and running educational training for graduates and other healthcare professionals.
Why did you become an orthotist?
I always wanted to work in healthcare and have the chance to help people. I chose orthotics because I found the practical aspects of it appealing and enjoyed the challenge of treating a person from a mechanical point of view.
What is the best experience you’ve had as an orthotist?
My main interest in orthotics is in neurology and especially in the treatment of stroke patients. I’m proud of helping a number of patients in their long term recovery and allowing them walk so they can continue with a high quality of life.
What do you do for fun?
I’m a big fan of live music and attend gigs as much as I can. I also enjoy keeping fit, and am currently training to run a marathon.
